Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection that's highly contagious. It appears as a rash on the face, arms or legs, but can also appear in the armpit or groin areas. It's more common among young children but adults can get it too.

During your consultation the pharmacist will examine your rash to assess if you have impetigo. If necessary they will prescribe medication, such as antibiotic creams or tablets for treating the bacterial infection, but may also recommend that you see your GP.
